Comments CommentsMade just under 10 runs before the holiday and Turkey trotter crowds joined the slopes.
All chairs were running at slower speeds due to wind (including the gondola). Condition were fair, falling mostly in the category of granular. Golf Balls were present in each trail, with the exception of Grizzly Access - that was spring snow from baking in the sun. Upper Spruce seemed to get progressively better each run (3x), with more people skiing it down. There were two bamboo poles marking big divots and a slight change in terrain (moguls); those spots were softer and more manageable just before lunch. Frank’s Fall Line was good, contenders on this trail were again golf balls and also some bare frozen granular patches. Polar Bear was best up top in my opinion, and this trail had two ski patrol calls in almost the same spot only an hour apart. Open terrain was challenging enough for inexperienced skiers, and with some racers in the mix, we decided to cut out after a couple close calls.
