Comments CommentsBeautiful Sunny Sunday! Got there late morning and the parking lots were packed, had to park in this wierd little lot near the tubing and in back of the chalets, but they did shuttle us to the lodge fast. Lodges were a a zoo, but I did manage to find a bench easy enough to boot up. Surprisingly, the trails were not that packed. Was it too cold for everyone?? Races occupied the Glades Triple lift most of the day. I worked my way around, first up Cat Quad then to Promenade Triple. Meadows Triple always had a line, Promenade was ski on. Ridge Quad had lines all day, but I mostly ducked into the ski patrol line which dubbed as the singles line and I rarely had to wait. Conditions were mainly packed frozen powder. Lots of packed powder/hardpack and frozen granular, but also some nice packed powder on the NY side which I skiied the most on. Everything that had snowmaking was open, only trails closed were those with only natural snow, which there was only a few inches of. Never tried the double blacks of the summit unfortunately. Top of Glades next to the chair lift actually had some really nice natural snow which was a pleasure to ski on! Most everything skiied really well, and fast! Ice of course showed up at the end of the day as things began to get skiied off. Quit at 5.
