Comments | One of the last days of Jordan to White Cap skiing of the year; limited operations start after Monday. Lower White Cap, top of Locke, Aurora, and top of Oz already closed for the season. Tricky weather (thick fog in the morning, occasional downpours in the early afternoon) kept the crowds away. Variable spring conditions with spring snow, soft ice, and plenty of random bare spots (that were hard to spot in advance in the heavy fog). A few trails (such as upper Grand Rapids and lower Cascades) got blown out/closed by the rain. Would have bagged it when the rain started around lunchtime, however the Barker bubble made it much more tolerable. Easier to handle getting wet on the downhill when you're not sitting in the rain for a long, exposed chairlift ride. Of the Jordan trails, Lollapalooza, Excalibur, and Tin Woodsman seemed to have the best base at the moment. Upper entrances to the other Oz glades are closed. Rogue Angel had some random areas of carnage from the rain. | |
