| Comments | Beautiful conditions before the wet forecast for tonight/tomorrow. Everything except for the Timberline complex was open. Pretty much all of the night skiing terrain has been hit with snowmaking, plus Hard Luck and Upper Cobrass (past the turn). Generally packed powder conditions with very little boilerplate, even by lunchtime. Non-snowmaking trails generally had good coverage, other than the usual exposed rocks on the steeps (e.g. Cougar, Upper Fanny Hill, Vermont 200) and mountain bike trail crossings. Bolton Outlaw seemed to have better coverage than recent visits (including one year ago to the day ironically). Skied Preacher for the first time. Not quite as steep/challenging as I was thinking, but still steep/narrow nevertheless. Seemed to be to be similar to Vermont 200 in terms of pitch/width. A few rocks and some large bumps. Looks like the first snowmaking campaign has wrapped on Timberline with some large whales visible on Timberline Run. I suspect they'll push it out after the storm and have it in time for New Year's. | |
