| Comments | Despite above-freezing temperatures, everything set up overnight, so it was a firm/fast morning. Natural trails were closed (and the natural steeps look thin post-rain). From the Skyline chair, only Mahoosuc Meadow was open (plus Lower Easy Rider). Easily the worst skiing on the mountain today, as it was groomed out wet and froze solid. Polka Dot was also open, but the mid section had some dirt. Egomaineah has a bunch of whales on the flats down low, but will need more snowmaking run time from the pitch to the top before it can open. From the Way Back Machine, Sweeper and Frostbite Falls were open from the top, branching into Boris (okay at start, but some boilerplate in places later in the morning), Dudley (best loose granular conditions on the mountain), and Taylor's Treat to Lower Easy Rider (latter was firm). Large snowmaking whale atop Fearless Leader (nothing else yet) and a few atop Bullwinkle's Other Horn (seems like there may be enough to push out and open it). Top terminal area of the T-Bar has seen snowmaking, but not the rest of the lift line. Initially only a chair or two wait, but some lines built up by 11. Large contingent of uphill skiers as well. Appreciate the old fashioned wicket tickets and super fast Indy Pass redemption. Every employee I encountered was friendly. Nice to have an old school area. | |
