| Comments | Holy crowds, Batman. Apparently Burke was much more crowded today than last weekend. 4-6" of new snow from the storm with more moisture content than the powder we've been getting for most of the winter. Indy redemption was quick at the Hotel front desk. Mid-Burke Quad singles line was a good 10 minutes from opening to lunch. Lift attendants did a good job moving the line along. T-Bar was also open to the public without as much of a line, but only Warren's Way could be skied from it (unless one ducked a rope or somehow go through the race fencing). Mid Burke went on mechanical hold during lunchtime, but started loading again just as folks were getting out of the line. That said, the downhill capacity is much greater than the uphill capacity, so the trails were not nearly as crowded, particularly the secondary trails that many folks don't know exist. Warren's Way (amazingly open without racing) was probably the worst, as it had set up before the storm and was very choppy (ski on hardpack fast, ski in sticky powder pile not so much). Some random rocks to watch out for on Doug's Drop and Wilderness. Otherwise, pretty good going. | |
