| Session | Full Day | |
| Ticket Type | Indy Pass | |
| Lift Lines | 1 to 2 minutes | |
| Trail Conditions | 95% open; Packed Powder, Wet Packed Powder | |
| Glades | Twilight Zone had nice, soft packed powder bumps. A few random rocks here and there. Goniff was good except for about halfway down the pitch, where there was a lot of exposed rock/ledge (fine above and below). | |
| Moguls | Pretty much anything ungroomed. | |
| Terrain Park(s) | Abracadabra | |
| Run of the Day | Twilight Zone | |
| Food and Beverage | Cheeseburger (okay) and a fountain beverage was around $16. | |
| Comments | Last minute audible to Magic for slightly more sun in the forecast, as well as wanting to get it before the thaw/freeze cycle. Indy redemption was easy this time, as I already had the RFID and reservations (direct to lift). Otherwise, the ticket process looked to be quite slow with the 1984 Entabeni set up. The only closed sign I encountered was Show-Off (race). Everything else was open, albeit a number of the expert trails were quite rocky. Groomers were generally in good shape, albeit with a few thin spots. They made snow on Vertigo recently, but only put in an inch or two of very yellow snow; still very thin on the pitch. A few random thin spots, such as Upper Magic Carpet. Low pitch natural trails were generally in good shape, such as Up Your Sleeve, Mystery, and Phoenix. Natural steeper trails, not so much. Broomstick (groomed) had rocks just below the corduroy that you'd find if you turned. Lower Wizard's pitch next to Potter is quite rocky; nearly everyone I saw there nailed a rock or ledge. I nailed a rock on upper Witch (before Goniff). The other steeps on that side were also plagued by exposed rock and ledge (painful to hear from the lift). Nice to have the option, but definitely rock ski material today. The prior wind events looked to have loaded powder in some places, such as Twilight Zone. Pretty decent crowd, with lines on both summit lifts starting at 10 until lunch, and then after lunch. Seemed to be 3 to 5 minutes or so when busy, but only a minute or so when not. Green Chair was generally ski-on. Cool packed powder under sunny skies (with a breeze) to start, transitioning to clouds, then back to partial sun around lunch time. Snow became really sticky down low and was getting soft up top too with temperatures climbing into the mid 40s. I suspect a lot of the natural stuff will be off-limits with the forecast deep freeze coming in. A foot of snow would do wonders. | |
