Comments CommentsThought it might be a sunny warm spring day, but it ended up being a partly to mostly cloudy mild yet seasonable day which made for honestly perfect skiing temps and conditions. Got to the base area drop off at about 9:55, parked in the front of lot 9 which still isn't that bad of a walk up. Not a bad ticket line to the outside window and a very easy Indy Redemption. Have yet to try keeping the card and re-using it. Not sure if these are reloadable online. Anyone ever try that??? Lots of bags outside and all over the place, but inside still had the signs that say "do not leave your bags here or we will confiscate them and make you pay a ransom to retrieve them.." so I put mine in the designated outdoor overflowing bag pile area.
Like I said above, I was half expecting a warm spring like day, but the temps and conditions we got instead I was not complaining about. Even had a brief snow squall early afternoon. Started on Green Peak, which offered a nice cruiser to the bottom in Governor's Run which skiied great even late into the day. Even the high traffic Oblivion held up for the most part, although I was really all over the mountain this day. High Country seems only for racing turns or terrain park jumping course crap so without blue skies to view, I only went up twice. Tangent was all skieed off with moguls in-between. Rode the Northside chair for the first time. Tried the new T-Bar twice. Decent amount of terrain off that, nice to have a night option here, but honestly after most of the day here, I was shot at 4:30. Ironically when the lights came on at 3:45, the sun started coming out and it was the brightest it was all day. Saw someone fall off the cliff of the 6 pack Express loading ramp and literally got swallowed up under the chair! I don't remember a drop off like that before. Pretty busy day over all but lines here can move pretty good and there is always an alternative route to the top via Valley Run and Sunny Side of both are open. Overall a very good day!
