Comments CommentsWell their report said 36 trails - 100% open - Trails Groomed 0 - Lifts 4 / 5 - Snow Conditions: Powder. Not sure where they got that last one from... then it says their crew groomed last night. OntheSnow said 36/68 trails. 40" Base Conditions: variable.
Me: 28°F to 40°F, high clouds and the sun broke thru briefly around noon. Complete views of the Presidential Range & Attitash all day. Mostly ski on except perhaps 5 mins at the double right after lunch.
I'll agree that almost all their main real trails were open and well covered. The other 32 trails IMHO are glades, hike to ski & crossovers. For example everything off the top that wasn't a glade, except for the Goose, was open. I never saw anyone on the J bar although I saw it moving a couple times. In the morning, the groomed and high traffic areas were good & loose but elsewhere it was real firm. As in real firm. It loosened up some during the day making Roller Coaster more enjoyable.
They have made a lot of snow on all those runs under the chairs not just the one or two this year. Roller Coaster, Maple Slalom & jackson are well covered. They were setting up guns on middle Maple Slalom for use later in the week. They had the upper cliffs open at some point this season (not that day) although some little tykes were using the lower section to hit a jump back onto the trail. And the lower cliffs were open which had the only obstacles showing thru in the main part of runs.
