Comments CommentsHad originally planned to ski here yesterday morning, but arrived to find it closed due to temperatures in the negative single digits. Had then planned to ski Quoggy Jo this morning, but they closed due to the temperatures (even though the temperatures were in the lower teens at their normal start time, go figure).

Anyway, it was a cold start, but temperatures quickly started to climb. Full natural snow coverage on trail and in the woods, though with an ice glaze. Thus, if it wasn't groomed, you probably weren't skiing it. All but a few short segments of trail were groomed. Empty mountain until around noontime, when a few skiers showed up to make it an even match between number of skiers and number of employees.

While there's nothing with a sustained expert pitch, there's a nice variety of novice and intermediate trails. Some narrow trails, a few wider slopes. The town of Fort Kent, the St. John River, and Canada dominate the views.

It took me 10 runs to ski everything that was open. Did a second run on the fun Founders slope at the end before starting the very long drive home.
