Comments CommentsWasn't much of a change from last weekend in terms of conditions; possibly even worse than when I went last Saturday (11/28). 10:00am is when I made my first run off of the South Ridge quad, and around 11:15 called it a day: drenched from head to toe from rain. The weather alone would probably explain why there was no wait for the lifts, ain't nobody got time for that crap.

In areas above the cloudline, the summit areas were starting to accumulate with a fresh layer of snow and sleet, getting in my face every run. Thankfully, I had my Copozz goggles that allowed me to take off the lenses every once and awhile to clean but didn't do much to change the weather on South Ridge. My second run off of Barker (Right Stuff) was probably the only trail I remember today that was actually in good condition from top to bottom, although it was very firm it had somewhat sufficient coverage. Next I decided to check out the terrain park on Upper Punch, but unfortunately nothing changed or moved around from last week, so bit of a let down there.

I heard from a local on the lift today that the Gould Academy Competition Center would maybe serve as an extra area for ticket holders in case of overflow at either Barker or South Ridge. Considering how big the "Comp House" (it's nickname) is inside, I would highly suggest that if it actually does open, head there instead of the two lodges already open. Gould Academy spends loads of time and money on upkeep for their facilities so my guess is that the comp center is the way to go if you're visiting for the weekend (If it does actually end up opening).
