Comments | Hello May first and sunshine. I couldn't talk anyone into joining me so this was a solo adventure. Gondola up and then laps on Canyon Quad and then a lap on Gondola when for some reason they had to get lift mechanic for the quad but it was back up and running again by the time my gondola ride was over. Oh walk from snow to the gondola lift maze, geez super muddy! First hour nice corn and firm snow in the shadows. I skied upper Reason's ribbon of snow and had to take my skis off half way down, well there was no rope--I didn't see anyone else ski it. Upper East Fall was nicely groomed to bring you to crazy deep sharp moguls to steep East Fall. Double Dipper was groomed but bumped out in about an hour. Downdraft softened up quickly and the ungroomed bumps were fun. Cascade wasn't open, it is melted out too much even though I thought report said it was open. Lots of people having fun, some skiing in shorts and crazy shirts and a guy singing loudly looking like he was having the time of his life. Canyon Quad crew barbeque had to be put away because it smelled too good to the local bears the lifty told me when I asked him where it was today. Lots of snow and they'll be open for a while but I am done with Killington for the season. I hope to end my season at Black on Saturday. |
