Comments CommentsSkied eight runs in the morning before starting the drive home. Beautiful weather - sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and zero wind. Conditions were good thanks to grooming and a slight dusting of new snow overnight. Still a firm base but plenty of granular on top, plus good corduroy if you were out early. A great day for high speed carving on Sugarloaf's signature fall line runs. Hayburner, Flume, and Gondi Line were all fun, while Haul Back was a bit scratchy. A small section of Upper Boomauger (from bottom of White Nitro to Mid Station X-Cut) was open ungroomed.

Unfortunately, the Timberline lift still did not open today, despite the extension trails off the summit being immaculately groomed. I suspect they might be having issues filling in the Timberline unload area, but that's a complete guess. Other than that, the main lifts were all open with a 5-10 minute wait at Skyline during the busy part of the day but only a few chairs at King Pine.

I would've liked to ski for longer, but I'm glad I at least got out for a few hours. Too bad there's going to be another thaw and freeze just as the mountain was getting back on its feet from the last one.
